It’s not hard to see why San Diego is such a popular city, which attracts
millions of tourists every year. Its consistent warmth and sunshine is the envy
of the rest of America. When much of the US is heavily under the influence of
rain or snow, the San Diegans carry on with their outdoor picnics and surfing.
It boasts one of the world’s greatest natural harbors, the downtown skyline
of which is a sight to behold. At the foot of this skyline lies the famous Gaslamp
Quarter, which offers fabulous and sophisticated dining and nightlife. The western
end is littered with beautiful, clean beaches, as far as the eye can see. This
is a surfer’s paradise, with crystal clear, warm waters. Towards the east
you find the desert playground of Anza-Borrego. Nearby is where the country’s
largest urban park and famous San Diego Zoo and Sea World are located. The San
Diegan people are so proud of their city and hometown, that they have often been
known to rank it as ‘America’s Finest City’. Some say that
this is a bit far fetched, but all considered, there isn’t much not to
like about it. There is something here for everyone. Go to Point Loma and watch
the warm glow of the setting sun over the city skyline. Swim with the Garibaldi
in La Jolla or catch a wave and a few rays off Pacific Beach. Visit some of the
endless amount of attractions available, including the San Diego Zoo and Sea
World, the harbor, Horton Plaza, the vast Balboa Park and Chicano Park, Little
Italy, Cabrillo National Monument, or any of the large selection of museums.
One of the most enjoyable experiences of San Diego, is simply savoring the atmosphere
of an extremely friendly, accommodating and multicultural society. |
